Fox News Loses To CNN And MSNBC For First Time Since 2000 As Ratings Crash For Network

Fox News just got some bad news that explains all the recent changes at the network and gives credibility to the rumors of more and bigger changes to come.

They just did something they have not done since 2000 – hit rock bottom in the ratings. Fox News has been the dominant network in cable news for decades but the streak is over.

For the first time since 2000, MSNBC and CNN beat Fox News in the ratings, driven by two events – the runoff in Georgia and the riot in Washington.

According to ratings data, CNN “topped cable networks” with roughly 2.8 million viewers per day between January 4th and January 10th, with 4.2 million viewers in primetime.

During that same time period, MSNBC had approximately 2.3 million viewers per day and 3.8 million in prime time.

Fox News, however, had just 1.7 million per day and 3.2 million in primetime. Yahoo Finance reported that “Newsmax, a smaller rival that has been promoted by President Trump, said it saw record ratings in primetime of 443,000 for the week. Its total day ratings averaged 294,000.”
