Friday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s long-shot motion to indefinitely postpone the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme court failed.
All 53 Republicans on the Senate voted against the motion and it failed 53-44.
before Schumer’s failed motion, by a tally of 51-46, the Senate agreed to the motion proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of Judge Barret to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
After Schumer’s failed motion, by a tally of 53-43, the Senate agreed to Mitch McConnell’s to recess until Saturday, October 24th.
